Teeny Peanut!

Posted on July 20, 2011

Oooh, I am way behind in blogging my sessions, but I must post about this sweet, teeny peanut.

This little one was 14 days old when she got her special photo session.

We discovered quite immediately that despite all my warming measures, she preferred to be swaddled. So we chose some dramatic color for her swaddling pleasure:

And did she love falling asleep in the little basket?! Absolutely!

Don’t you want to eat those teeny toes?! (Yes, I’m totally gushy over newborns!)

And for our last outfits, we went with the ever perfect tutu with matching headband and an adorable crocheted hat her parents provided.

She’s just heavenly!

I had such a great time with this lovely family.

What A Difference A Year Makes

I had the pleasure of photographing little KD this holiday weekend. KD is very special to me for many reasons, one of which is that she was the first newborn I ever photographed.

I’ve watched her change from this:

to this:

in one short year?! Time does fly.

A New Munchkin

Posted on May 24, 2011

I was so happy to have a shoot with a newborn last weekend. It had been almost a year since my last munchkin, and I really wanted to get into some delicious baby goodness again.

Luckily Zara’s former infant room teacher allowed me to photograph her 14-day-old cutie pie. I was thrilled!

I forgot about how much effort goes into a newborn shoot. It took me 30 minutes to just pack the car. But once I got there and unloaded, we slowed down and allowed the little guy to get comfortable in his set ups.

Initially we found a snuggly position in the basket:

But soon after, he decided that he’d much rather stay awake than sleep.

No worries, we will manage, little guy!

But soon after a little poopy and pee break, we did get snuggly again:

And we really liked the red blanket:

Don’t you just love the fingers and toes?

I just love the sweet newborns!

Newborn Love

Posted on July 30, 2010

I did my first newborn shoot at the end of June for someone who has been very special to me since she was a mere 17 years old. She’s now an “old” married lady of almost 30 who just welcomed her second child.

I hope these images were able to capture the wonder and preciousness that is the newborn.

Is there anything better than a newborn?
